Girl Earth Award: I Am Laura Muwanguzi, 20 Years Old, From Masaka District, Studying At Isbat University. I Am Honoured To Be Nominated For The Girl Earth Award. I Was Inspired By Climate Activist Vanessa Nakate, But Also By The Devastating Floods That Destroyed Lives And Property In My Community. They Reminded Me That We Must Act Urgently; There Is No Planet B. My Vision Is Not Just To Protect The Environment, But To Create A World That Doesn't Need Protection. I Founded Sustainable Scholars, A Project Dedicated To Educating Children Aged 5-18 About Climate Change Through Creative Methods Like Games, Tree Planting, Clean-ups, And Storytelling. Each Year On My Birthday, I Also Plant Trees To Restore Lost Green Cover, Including In Forests Like Mabira. As Lead Clerk For The 2nd National Environment Parliament Of Uganda, I Have Also Influenced Policy And Youth Involvement In Environmental Decision-making. Winning This Award Would Give Me And Other Young Women A Stronger Platform To Demand Climate Action. It Would Amplify Our Voices, Inspire Mothers Protecting Future Generations, And Energize Youth Worldwide. Yet, If Someone Else Wins, I Will Celebrate Them, Because This Award Belongs To Everyone Fighting To Protect The Earth.
