Advocacy: Growing up, I witnessed how poverty and limited economic opportunities continue to hold back countless women and girls in Kenya. For many, the lack of education, skills, and financial resources creates barriers to independence and opportunity. In some communities, early marriage is still seen as a pathway to economic security, contributing to the reality that nearly one in four Kenyan girls is married before the age of 18.

These realities inspired my advocacy: empowering women and girls through climate action and sustainable livelihoods. I believe economic empowerment is one of the most powerful tools for change. When women have the skills, resources, and confidence to earn an income, they gain the freedom to make informed decisions about their education, careers, and future.

Through environmental education programs, I have engaged 20 women and reached more than 750 students across two schools, raising awareness about climate change, conservation, and sustainable resource management. Building on this work, I am now expanding into climate-smart skills development, equipping women and girls with practical, income-generating opportunities that strengthen both economic resilience and environmental stewardship.

Over the next 12 months, my goal is to empower at least 100 women and girls through training, mentorship, and leadership development. I am committed to creating a generation of women who are not only financially independent but also champions of climate solutions in their communities. By investing in women, we create stronger families, healthier environments, and more sustainable futures for all.
