Unique Abilities Award: My Name Is Achom Nowel Gift, 22 Years Old, From Bujjowali, Buikwe District, And I Am Honoured To Be Nominated For The Unique Abilities Award. In April 2010, I Was Involved In A Motorcycle Accident That Resulted In The Amputation Of My Right Leg. While Initially Faced With Stigma, Bullying, And Doubt, I Chose To Transform This Challenge Into A Mission To Inspire Others With Disabilities. My Leadership Journey Began Early: Head Girl In Primary School, Entertainment Prefect, Head Prefect, And Library And Academic Prefect In Secondary School. I Discovered A Talent In Sports, Representing Schools Nationally In Table Tennis, And Now Participate In Weightlifting, Throws, And Table Tennis At University. I Mentor Amputees, Encouraging Confidence And Resilience. Winning This Award Would Recognize Perseverance, Inspire Pwds Across Uganda, And Affirm That Disability Does Not Limit Potential. Even If I Do Not Win, Being Nominated Is A Victory That Strengthens My Commitment To Leadership, Advocacy, And Showing That Challenges Can Be Stepping Stones Toward Empowerment And Societal Impact.
