Sexual Reproductive Health And Rights Girl Champion Award: My Name Is Collette Kongai, 23 Years Old, A Ugandan Child And Adolescent Counsellor From Katakwi Aleles, Based In Soroti City. I Am Humbled To Be Nominated For The Srhr Girl Champion Award. Growing Up In A Society Where Understanding Sexual Health Was Challenging, I Was Inspired To Share My Experiences And Support Other Girls Navigating Similar Struggles. My Work Focuses On Adolescent Girls, Including Those With Disabilities, At Both Community And Health Facility Levels. I Provide Guidance On Menstrual Hygiene And Mental Health, Two Areas Critical For Confidence And Dignity. Through Counseling, Mentorship, And Training, I Have Created Safe Spaces For Girls To Express Themselves, Access Accurate Information, And Make Informed Decisions About Their Bodies And Futures. Being Recognized Would Provide Platforms To Reach More Girls, Strengthen Advocacy, And Expand Services To Underserved Communities. I Believe True Leadership Is Measured By Action, Empathy, And Consistency, Not Titles. Winning This Award Would Amplify My Ability To Serve Others, But Even Nomination Alone Is A Victory, Affirming That Empowering Girls And Promoting Srhr Awareness Can Transform Lives And Inspire Communities Across Uganda.
