Girl Education Award: I Am Atim Caroline, 23 Years Old, A Student At Makerere University Business School, Pursuing A Bachelor Of Commerce. I Am Honoured To Be Nominated For The Girl Education Award. Growing Up, I Observed Many Girls In My Community Drop Out Of School Due To Teenage Pregnancies, Stigma, And Lack Of Guidance. Limited Knowledge Of Menstrual Health And A Lack Of Sanitary Materials Further Hindered Their Education. To Address This, I Began Raising Awareness, Teaching Menstrual Health, Distributing Sanitary Towels, And Training Girls To Make Reusable Pads. These Efforts Have Benefited Over 200 Girls, Including Students At St. Martin's Primary School In Mulago, Enabling Them To Manage Menstruation With Confidence, Reduce Absenteeism, And Stay In School. Winning This Award Would Validate These Efforts, Highlight The Challenges Girls Face, And Inspire Greater Community Commitment To Education. Even As A Nominee, I Celebrate The Importance Of Every Contribution Toward Ensuring Girls' Continued Learning And Empowerment. Recognition Would Allow Me To Expand Outreach, Provide Mentorship, And Create Sustainable Support Systems For Girls Facing Barriers To Education.
